Week of January 5-9
It’s been a while! Did you have a cozy, happy Christmas season? I very much hope you did! :)
Today is Friday…so, it’s the perfect day for a weekly roundup! Most of these Substack posts & notes are a few weeks old already, but they’re SO good…you’ll see why I wanted to share them with you.
Enjoy…
Scripture –
2 Thessalonians 3:3 & 16 — But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one…Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.
1 Timothy 1:15-17 — This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
1 John 4:9-11 — In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
Isaiah 60:19-21 — The sun shall no longer be your light by day,
Nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you;
But the Lord will be to you an everlasting light,
And your God your glory.
Your sun shall no longer go down,
Nor shall your moon withdraw itself;
For the Lord will be your everlasting light,
And the days of your mourning shall be ended.
Also your people shall all be righteous;
They shall inherit the land forever,
The branch of My planting,
The work of My hands,
That I may be glorified.

The New Heavens & Earth | Lee Brainard
Description: “This is the sixth session of the Pastor's Huddle in October 2025 that was sponsored by Mark Henry Ministries and Olive Tree Ministries, in which I addressed Revelation 21:1. In this session I covered one of my favorite topics, the New Heavens and Earth. I discuss whether Scripture teaches it's renovated or annihilated and replaced. I also discuss the meaning of "no more sea".
What’s better than thinking about the New Heavens and Earth? Lee is gifted at thinking through the realities of our eternity and bringing the truths of Scripture to life in our hearts and minds. If you want to soak up the joy of our futures, please take a listen!

How Great You Are | Phillips, Craig & Dean
Lyric preview:
A thousand sparkling stars upon a midnight summer sky
The majesty and wonder of the ocean's endless tide
And the more I see the more I can't explain
How the one who set the world in place
Could even know my name and I'm amazed, I'm so amazed
How great You are
These early 2000s worship songs bring back such happy memories of a simpler time. They just also make me think about all the things He’s done for me and what He’s brought me through since then.

Kylie, it was fun to see your recommendation for one of Lee Brainard’s videos. He and his wife, Nita, lived in the same town as my family until their recent move out of state, and we cherish their friendship.
